1) One of my topics i am choosing is immigration. most of the candidates all agree with eachother about putting up the 700mile fence along the mexican border, and that they will make some immigrants a citizen.
How would you go about picking who is going to be a citizen and who isn't?
2) Enviremental issues would be a really good one to talk about, because its a worldwide issue. greenhouse effects can be serious to our envirment. it is somethin that is ineveitable, but we can slow it down, by changing.
What methods would you use to clean up the envirement, less factories, pollution?
3) There is still debate about gun ownership. Almost all of the candidates are in support of owing a gun as long as they have a license to own it.
So persons could have multiple felony's and still own a gun?

My 9th grade english teacher had told us we had an assigntment do at the end of the hour. she had posted a funny picture on the overhead of a man dressed in business clothes, while he was at the beach tripping over a woman that was sun bathing. we then had to describe every single detail we could possibly think of. about how warm did i think the weather was, what are the people thinking, and how are they going to react, etc.

Over the years America has become more populated. it is not becasue of another baby boom like we had in the middle of the 20th century, when the soldiers over seas came home after defeating Axis evil in Europe during WWII - it is because of illegal immgrants coming across the border for a better life. They want to be successful in America, but they can't unless they learn english which most of them do not. In most parts of the southern states their are towns that are only spanish speaking towns; El Cenizo, Texas. Leslie, the writer of this article, strictly argues and beleives that this American country should have english as the national and official language.
You can clearly see her point that she wants english to be the official language. She puts a sarcastic remark in her story when she says, " Anywhere you go anymore the signs in the stores are in English & Spanish. The products come in a box that is in English & Spanish.". She makes good points by giving the example of her father. Her father was kicked out of school because all he spoke was italian until he was five years old. The school kicked him out because he did not speak english. They let him come back to school when he spoke english fluently.
Also she states that intrepreters are needed because of the major population that do not speak english, mainly just spanish. Overall i enjoyed the article, but the conclusion was kind of cheesy where she says, "I recently got in an elevator at the mall. Everyone who got in spoke Spanish. I wondered where I was. "Hello, welcome to McDonalds may I take your order?" "Yes, I would like the Big Mac meal with a side order of for double cheeseburgers" says the starving impatient man. As the man pulls up to the paying window, the cook’s are making haste to get the order prepared for this nice happy American family, not knowing it is a 400lb man and what looks to be his daughter around twelve years old, roughly weighing in at 180lb’s. the daughter impatiently grabs the food from her dad and tears the wrapping off her sandwich and puts half of the burger in mouth. The worker watches her as grease drips out of the sandwich like water comes out of a rag when you twist it. They drive off with their food, only to be seen again the same night for dinner.
This story seems sad, but it is what goes on everyday in the American life style. America is filled with gluttony people and their ideals. Gluttony is defined as excessive eating and/or drinking that a person or persons do just because they either love to eat, or just have nothing better to do - an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires. Gluttony is the main cause of obesity in America: that is why I believe this word is important because it has changed American lives all over this Nation. It destroys people’s bodies making them very unhealthy and in some cases, people have lived half of their lives in bed because they can’t get move - they cannot even get out of bed to go to the bathroom!
About 31%, or about 59 million people, are obese, which is defined as roughly 30 or more pounds over a healthy weight. Almost 65% are either obese or overweight, 10 to 30 pounds over a healthy weight, which increases their chances of developing diabetes. 17 million Americans have diabetes- which damages- eyes, nervous systems, and kidneys. Most people who have diabetes have type 2, which is pretty deadly and is one of the main causes of glutton people’s deaths.

Eating until you explode is very serious, but over the years, society has made gluttony into a game and contest; some might even call it a sport. America host thousands of food eating contests all over the nation. the big one is on every fourth of July, they host a hot dog eating contest. Story has it that this contest was founded in 1916 in Coney Island. Takeru Kobayashi of Japan was new to these contests and so he just decided to sign up last year. The 5' 7'', 130lb man set a new record as he at 50 hot dogs in just 12 minutes! the 23 year old man left competitors with their jaws agape as he knocked back more than four dozen franks. The crowd cheered and had said it was by far the most amazing performance since the annual opening of the contest in 1916. "I have never seen anything like this before," said Tom Maher, a spokesman for the Nathan's-sponsored International Federation of Competitive Eating. "He has truly redefined the sport."
That contest really amazed because who eats 50 hot dogs let alone in one day - but in 12 minutes thats just crazy. So I did some research and found a website call the MLE. The MLE is short for Major League Eating, and is the sports franchise that oversees all professional competitive eating events and competitive eating television specials. The mission of Major League Eating is to maintain a safe environment for all events, while also seeking to create a dynamic and enjoyable fan experience. The website has a bunch of cool things to do like watch video clips of some of the contestor: Joey Chestnut, Takeru Kobayashi, and Thomas and Patrick Bertoletti brothers. It displays the different kinds of food eating contests that shows when and where they are held at.
Even though that some of society turned gluttony into a sport where you can watch a man eat hot dogs unitl he explodes doesn't mean that you have to eat as much as you can too. Gluttony can lead to obesity and it can also lead to your death. If you know anybody who is over weight, talk to them and ask them questions about eating right and try to get them on a healthy diet. You really never hear the word Gluttony anymore, my guess it is because people just wear the word as a fashion statement.
